Lois Ann Burton, age 70, of Hebron, Maryland, passed away peacefully on Saturday, March 28, 2026, at her home surrounded by her loving family. She was born on August 4, 1955, in Nassawadox, Virginia, the beloved daughter of Samuel Mears and Ethel Voyles Schuster.
Lois dedicated much of her professional life as an engineer assembler at K&L Microwave, where she was known for her strong work ethic and commitment to excellence. Lois was an active member of her community, where she made lasting connections through her involvement with the VFW Ladies Auxiliary Post 194 in Salisbury, Women Supporting Women, and the Laughing Ladies. Her unwavering spirit of support and advocacy will be missed by all who knew her. She also attended 3C Church in Delmar, where she cherished her faith and fellowship with her congregation. Lois is survived by husband, Joseph Burton; her children, PJ Dennis (Candy) , Tim Dennis (Jill), and Crystal Dennis (Liz); her brothers, Tommy Mears, Dale Mears, and Sam Mears (Rose); as well as her cherished grandchildren, Trystin Insley, Emily Dennis, Taylor Dennis, Jessica Dennis, Patrick Dennis, Dylan Shupe, Mariah Shupe, and Cody Shupe (Katie); and five great grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Greg Taylor; and a sister Mary Mears.
A memorial service to honor Lois's life will be held on Saturday, April 4, 2026, at 10:00 AM at Short Funeral Home in Delmar. A visitation will take place one hour prior to the service, providing an opportunity for family and friends to pay their respects and share memories of Lois.
In memory of Mrs. Burton, contributions may be sent to Community Foundation of the Eastern Shore, Greg Taylor Memorial Scholarship Fund, 1324 Belmont Avenue, Suite 401, Salisbury, MD 21804.
