Funeral services for Lois Christine Chestnut, 87, of Taylor County will be held on Saturday, May 24, 2025, at 3:00 pm in the Chapel of McLeighton Funeral Service in Reynolds Mrs. Chestnut passed away on Tuesday, May 20, 2025, at her residence. She was a member of Horeb Baptist Church, the Eastern Star, and was a homemaker.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Robert Hampton and Lucille Willis Hampton; her husband, Marvin Edward Chestnut; two brothers and two sisters; son, Robert Chestnut; daughter, Cindy Hays; and two grandsons, Edward Stevens and Michael Chestnut Woodall.
Survivors include one son, Michael Chestnut (Nina) of Taylor County; three daughters, Sandra Carter-Gee of Loganville, Barbara Chestnut of Mauk and Betty Jo Caldwell of Thomaston; one brother, Fred Hampton of Greensboro, GA; two sisters, Faye Chestnut of Taylor County and Patsy Hardin of Alabama; thirteen grandchildren; twenty nine great-grandchildren and nine great-great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews also survive.
Visitation will be held on Friday evening from 5 to 7 pm at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Thomaston Hospice.
