Mr Harold Drains

Mr. Harold Doumes Drains, who departed this life on Wednesday, September 24, 2025, at Upson Regional Medical Center. At the age of 78, Harold gave up his earthly body to be present with the Lord. Born on February 24, 1947, to the late Wilson "Busta" Drains and Omie Lee Grover Drains, Harold was a proud son of Taylor County, Georgia. He was preceded in death by two beloved brothers, Lee Norris Grover and Anthony Drains.Harold was a man of many talents and a generous spirit, and the life of any family gathering. He attended the public schools of Taylor County and spent his life sharing his gifts with family, friends, and his community. Whether he was fishing, hunting in his younger years, or working with his hands, Harold was known for his skill and dedication. A self-taught mechanic, truck driver, and heavy machine operator, he could handle just about anything with an engine. But it was his welding that earned him a reputation around town, he was known as one of the best. Harold retired from Suggs Machine Shop in Butler, Georgia, leaving behind a legacy of hard work, craftsmanship, and quiet strength.

He is survived by his wife, Ouida Faye Drains, and his loving children: Linda (John) Howard, Rhonda Stephens, Tameika Dixon, and Latasha Drains. His legacy continues through eleven grandchildren: Jerica (Jeremy) Ross, Ricky (Tiffany) Dixon, Ronchell Drains, Michael Pittman Jr., Tyresha Dixon, Farlandria Dixon, John Howard III, Tamesha Dixon, Quanishia Dixon, Ny’Azaia Drains, and Casanova Drains; and nine great-grandchildren: Je’Vion Ross, Kace Smith, King Dixon, Jordan Spivey, Jeremiah Pittman, Aaliyah Pittman, Karter Spivey, Kori Dixon, Zahria Clark, and one more blessing, Berry Rose, on the way.He also leaves behind two sisters, Debra Drains-Biggs and Brenda Gibson; a godson and dear friend, Marvin Peebles, with whom he shared many cherished moments; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends who will carry his memory in their hearts.Harold’s life was a testament to resilience, love, and the quiet power of a man who gave his all to those he loved. His presence will be deeply missed, but his spirit will live on in every story told, every laugh shared, and every memory held close.
