Lois Bates Coffey, a beloved mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away peacefully on August 22, 2025, in Riverdale, Utah. Born on September 7, 1944, in Ogden, Utah, Lois illuminated the lives of those around her with her warm heart and vibrant spirit.

Lois dedicated 30 years to her career at Hill Air Force Base, where her work ethic and commitment were evident to all who had the privilege of knowing her. She graduated from Morgan High School, carrying with her the values of hard work and determination that shaped her life.

Her passions extended beyond her professional endeavors. Lois was an enthusiastic gardener who found joy in nurturing plants and flowers, creating a beautiful sanctuary of nature. She relished traveling, and her adventures often included visits to national parks, where she immersed herself in the beauty of the great outdoors. Lois was also a devoted pet lover, sharing her home with her cherished Schnauzers over the years: Trixie, Sassy, and Bailey. These furry companions were a source of endless joy and love in her life.

In addition to her many interests, Lois had a special flair for decorating for all the holidays. Her home would transform into a festive wonderland, filled with cheer and warmth that drew family and friends together during special times of the year.

Lois was surrounded by a loving family who will carry her memory in their hearts forever. She is survived by her son, Eric Paul Crittenden; daughter, Layna Crittenden Ford; son-in-law, Larry Ford; and three grandsons, Jeremy Crittenden, Dustin Ford, and Mitchel Ford (Angela). Her cherished sister, Bonnie Bates Coop, remains to honor the memories they created together.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Richard LaVern Bates and Grace Henier Bates, whose love and guidance shaped the remarkable woman she became.

Though we mourn the loss of Lois, we celebrate a life filled with love, laughter, and the indelible mark she left on everyone she met. Her legacy will continue through the lives she touched and the cherished memories shared by her family and friends.

Rest peacefully, dear Lois - your light will forever shine in our hearts.
