Lois Engel Obituary

Lois was born in Marshfield, WI, to Arthur and Clara (Koch) Ott, on November 10, 1930. She graduated in the class of '48 from Marshfield High School and completed her Bachelor of Science in Home Economics at the University of Wisconsin, Madison, in 1952, where she met her future husband, Bill Engel.
Lois married Bill on June 21, 1952. The couple lived in Highland Park, Il, Royal Oak, MI, and Lexington, KY, before moving to Urbandale, IA, in 1967. Lois enjoyed entertaining friends and family and was an excellent cook. She also enjoyed sewing, singing in the church choir, and taking care of her four children. Later in life she enjoyed playing golf and traveling with her husband, Bill.
Lois's faith and family were very important to her. She was a longtime member of the Lutheran Church, Missouri Synod, and attended Mount Olive and Gloria Dei during her time in Iowa. Lois was very active in the church and also volunteered at Agape Pregnancy Resource Center in Des Moines.
Lois is survived by her sons Bill (Sherrie), of Indianola, Jason (Kelly), of Leawood, KS, her daughter, Nancy Budensiek, of Centerton, AR, and her daughter-in-law Cynthia Engel, of Wimberly, TX; her grandchildren Jason (Tar), Christina (Jon) Fitzpatrick, Katherine (Sean) Stoner, Sarah Grace (Andrew) Thompson, Hailey Budensiek, and Matt (Brittney) Saitta; great-grandchildren Emily and Estelle Engel; Owen, Lucas, and Lauren Fitzpatrick; and Logan and Nash Stoner. She was preceded in death by her parents, her brother Harold, her sisters Doloris Dix and Arla Haley, her husband Bill, and her son Bradley.
In lieu of flowers, please direct memorial contributions to Gloria Dei Lutheran Church or Agape.

We were deeply saddened to hear my Aunt Lois had passed away.
But, as I read her obituary, I was reminded of the full life she lived, and the love she must have felt from her family and friends.
My mother, Arla Haley, loved her older sister, and shared many stories of their childhood.
We´ll miss her, and send our sincere condolences,
