Mrs. Eppes was born August 14, 1928, in Irwin County, Georgia, to the late Thomas Warren and Bertie Mae Paulk McBryant. She was a graduate of Irwin County High School and served as secretary for the clerk of court for Ben Hill County and was the secretary for the State Board of Education for some time. Most of all, her biggest job was being a loving mom and wife. Mrs. Eppes was a member of the Green Thumb Garden Club, the Do-Nothing Club and a 40-year member of the DAR. She was a faithful member of the First Baptist Church in Fitzgerald.
She is survived by her son, Keith Eppes of Orange Park, Florida; daughter, Jan & Mark Duncan of Middleburg, Florida; grandchildren, Melissa Cobb & Matt Johns of Ponte Vedra, Florida, Michael & Laurel Walker of Mandarin, Florida, Thomas Eppes of South Charleston, South Carolina, Sara Beth & Aaron Gums of Starke, Florida, and Mark Duncan Jr. of Middleburg, Florida; great grandchildren, K C Lehman, Isabella Murray, Tyler Eppes and Haylie Eppes; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Frank Eppes, her daughter Susan Abell, son-in-law Mike Abell, daughter-in-law, Linda Eppes, brother Warren McBryant and sisters, Laura Johnson and Florence Williamson.
In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorials be made to the First Baptist Church of Fitzgerald or a charity of your choice.
