Lois Marie Flatness, 87, passed away on Tuesday, April 30 2024.  A funeral will be held for her on Tuesday May 7, 2024 at Bayview Freeborn Funeral Home at 11AM with visitation held for an hour prior to the service.  Burial will take place at Greenwood Cemetery in Glenville.  Father Kurt Farrell will be officiating.

Lois was born on December 2, 1936 to Herbert and Luella Holdgrafer in Austin, MN.  She grew up in the Austin area with four siblings, Barb, Chuck, Corrine, and Deanna.  Lois graduated from high school in Austin and later went on to get an associate's degree in accounting.  She married the love of her life, Richard Flatness on December 7, 1957.  Lois and Richard made their home northeast of Manchester where they raised 7 children together.  In 1994 they moved to Albert Lea.                                                                                        
 
Lois enjoyed growing flowers and had a soft spot for birds.  She also loved to play games on her ipad, listen to country music and spend time with her family.                                           

She is preceded in death by her husband Richard and her parents Herbert and Luella.                                                                                                                                                     
She is survived by her children Collin (Debbie) Flatness, Paul Flatness, Cindy (Ken) Stolberg, Robert (Jeannette) Flatness, Diane (Glen) Slayton, Kevin Flatness, and Lori (William) Schirmer; grandchildren Michelle, Krystal, Troy, Sandy, Stephen, Brian, Jason, Tami, Colton, Jennifer, Kelsey, Mark, Sara, Stephanie, Chance, Tania, Matthew, and Andrew; and many great and great-great grandchildren.

She will be greatly missed.  Love you Mom.
