Lois Canipe Gantz, 77, of Charlotte, NC, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, September 9, 2025. She was born in Charlotte, NC on May 25, 1948, to Laurie Eugene Canipe and Evah Honeycutt Canipe. She graduated from North Mecklenburg High School. Lois was preceded in death by her brother Wendell E. Canipe. She worked at Kloeckner Metal (Edgecomb Steel) for 48 years in a variety of roles. Many in the steel business knew her by her nickname "Lucy". After becoming a grandmother, she was affectionately known as Mimi by her grandsons and all the neighborhood children. Her activities included spending time with her grandsons, preparing meals for her family, taking trips, and visiting the beach with family. Lois most importantly established a loving and trusting relationship with her Savior Jesus Christ.

Lois is survived by her son, Brian Gantz (Roxanne) of Indian Trail, NC; two grandsons who were her world, Brandan and Jacob Gantz. The family would like to thank Kristin for her outstanding care and service from VIA Health Services -Hospice.

Visitation will be on Tuesday, September 16th, 2025, at 10:00 AM at Mt. Harmony Baptist Church and the funeral service will follow at 11:00 AM (2817 Mt Harmony Church Rd, Matthews, NC 28105). Interment will follow at Sharon Memorial Park.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Mt. Harmony Baptist Church.
