Lois James

Lois James 89, of Murphy, passed away Wednesday, December 24, 2025 at her residence. Lois was born and raised in Long Island, New York where she spent most of her childhood. She went to college in New York where she received her Associate Arts degree in Sociology and Business Management. Lois worked for Washington Adventist Hospital as a Unit Secretary on the Med-Surge unit and later for H. Lyndon Marter MD and Robert A. Smith MD as a Front Desk Administrative Assistant in Takoma Park, Maryland until she retired in 1998 and moved to Murphy, North Carolina. Lois was a member of the Murphy Seventh Day Adventist Church where she attended regularly.
Lois was preceded in death by her husband, Ronald James.
Surviving are her daughters, Patti Leedhan, Bonnie Knadler, and Kellee Needle; five sons, Chris James, Jeffery James, Bill Keeney, Robert James and Donald James; and several grandchildren.
No services are planned at this time.
