It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Lois Ann Janisse. She passed away surrounded by family, at 9:35 in the morning on Sunday, November 2nd, 2025. To her loved ones, she was known as "Grandma Bee," due to a game that her husband lovingly played with their grandchildren. She is survived by: two daughters, Lisa (Paul) Robertson and Lynn (Kevin) Buck; five grandchildren, Amanda (David) Adkins, Erik (Kaitlyn) Robertson, Ashley (Nick) Muscat, Alyson Buck and Avery Buck; and four great-grandchildren, Elizabeth Adkins, Leeland Adkins, Kacey Robertson, and Kinsley Robertson. Lois is predeceased by her husband, George Janisse; her daughter, Lori Akenbrandt; and her sister, Betty Sweet.
Lois leaves behind memories and stories that will be told for the years to come. She was born on April 29th, 1942, to Bernice and William Downie. She grew up in Detroit, Michigan. Lois worked as a bank teller at Security Bank & Trust, and she retired from PNC Bank. One of her greatest prides was serving as the Boat Club Commodore First Lady, for the Detroit Beach Boat Club along with her husband George. Lois and George lived most of their time together in South Rockwood, Michigan. She loved to host her grandchildren for sleepovers and to throw holiday parties at the Detroit Beach Boat Club. Lois was a major Detroit sports fan, making sure to watch every Tigers and Lions game, as well as Michigan Football. Lois and George were very fond of travel and camping; they road tripped to all 48 continental US states, and even Alaska in their RV! Volunteering was something that Lois loved to do, specifically for Children With Hair Loss and the Susan G. Komen 3 Day Walk. Lois will be remembered for her fun-loving personality; you could always count on Lois to meet you out on the dance floor! She will be missed dearly by her friends and family, may she Rest in Peace.
