Lois “Marilyn” (Miller) O’Grady, age 89, entered into the presence of her Lord and Savior on November 3, 2025.

Marilyn was born on February 29, 1936 in Albany, Missouri. A woman of deep faith, compassion, and steady strength, she lived her life with a servant’s heart. A registered nurse, she often sought positions that allowed her to return home in time to be present with her sons after school — always prioritizing her family above all else.

On January 10, 1959, Marilyn married Virgil O’Grady, beginning a lifelong covenant defined by love, loyalty, partnership, and unwavering dedication to family. She was the proud wife of a Coast Guard officer, fulfilling the innumerable responsibilities that came with that calling — supporting her husband through each chapter of service, and anchoring her home with strength and steadiness.

With her husband and three sons, Marilyn enjoyed golf, camping, boating, and following sports. She loved playing card games with her family — a tradition passed from her own parents and grandparents, and one she carried forward to her children and grandchildren. She and Virgil also shared many years of round and square dancing at dances in both Missouri and Florida — finding joy, rhythm, and community together.

Marilyn is survived by her husband Virgil; her children Brian (Kathy), Paul (Melody), and Don (Jayne); and her brother Marvin Miller (Miryam). She is also survived by five grandchildren: Corey, Alex, Shannon, Andrew and Jacob — and five great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by loved ones who welcomed her home again in Christ’s eternal presence.

Marilyn will be remembered for her quiet strength, her gentle humor, her steady encouragement, and her heart that always found ways to show love — through words, through service, and often simply through being present when someone needed her most. Her legacy of faith, kindness, and compassion lives on in the family she cherished.

There will be a private family funeral with a celebration of life to be announced at a later date.
