Otis Loyd III was born to Otis Loyd Jr and Murna Craig Loyd on November 2, 1964 at Ray County Memorial Hospital in Richmond, Missouri.
He lost his father in death in March of 2005.
He is survived by his mother: Murna Loyd of Richmond, MO. He has two sons: Thomas Loyd and Cody Loyd-Kruse from the Ames, Iowa area. There is three grandsons and three granddaughters there as well.
Otis had a variety of places and states where he went to school. He started in Lexington, Missouri completing his graduation in Wisconsin.
He chose to follow his grandfather Loyd in the welding profession when it was time to work. He went to Lexington Vocational School to start his learning abilities for welding. He never stopped learning. He was a welder for 28 years and enjoyed every minute of it. Through out the years he welded on air planes, lots of beer trucks, cars, pickups and everything else he could get his hands on.
When the doctor said it's time to stop welding he enjoyed specialty painting of homes in Ames, Iowa. That wasn't much better than the welding but he had a family to feed so he did all he could. When work got scarce he found another way to make money. He was never without a job for long.
He told me he had enjoyed his life.
A visitation will be held 10-11 AM, Wednesday, November 12, 2025 at Hidden valley Funeral Home of Richmond, 9502 Leathers Road, Richmond, MO 64085. A memorial service will follow at 11 AM. Otis will be burial following the service at Hickory Gove Cemetery North of Richmond.
