Spartanburg, South Carolina
Mrs. Lois Hazel Davis Miller, a loving mother, grandmother, and faithful servant of the Lord, passed away peacefully on November 2, 2025, after a beautiful life filled with love and kindness.
She was born on April 28, 1934, in Greer, South Carolina, to the late Lillie and Sam Davis. She attended Dunbar Public School in Greer and later married the love of her life, Major Miller. Together they shared two children and built a life grounded in love, faith, and family.
Mrs. Miller accepted Christ at an early age and lived her life as a true woman of God. She was a lifelong member of Cedar Grove Baptist Church, where she faithfully served for many years. She sang joyfully in the choir, was a dedicated Sunday School member, and served as a Deaconess, always willing to lend a helping hand and encourage others in their faith. She also enjoyed serving meals to others and being a blessing to everyone around her. Mrs. Miller was a proud member of the Greentown Sympathy Club, a community she loved and cherished dearly.
She worked for the Greer County School System for many years. She later joined Benson Automotive, where she remained until her retirement. Outside of work, she enjoyed spending time with her family, cooking, and sharing her excellent meals and desserts with them. Her home was always filled with love, laughter, and the aroma of something delicious cooking on the stove.
She leaves to cherish her memory: her daughter, Hazel (Steven) Mills; her son, Allen Ballenger; four grandchildren, Torrey (LaJuan) Mills of Spring Lake, NC; Shina (Shevelle) Frazier of Moore, SC; Steven (Jessica) Mills of Inman, SC; and Allen (Berenice) Ballenger of Greenville; seven great-grandchildren, Kiandre (Nikeya) Thompson, Faith Frazier, Grant Aiken Ross, Major Mills, Ross Mills, Stevie Mills and Amira Ballenger; one nephew, Dwight (Mary) Beasley; one niece, Jenny Bennett; and a host of cousins, great-nieces, great-nephews, and many friends who loved her dearly.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Major Miller; four brothers, Johnny Davis, Mitchell Davis, Dussdal Davis, and Lonon Davis; and three sisters, Lola Mae Beasley, Sarah Ann Wofford, and Rina Todd.
Mrs. Miller lived a life of grace, faith, and service. Her gentle spirit, giving heart, and unwavering love for her family and community will always be remembered. Though she will be deeply missed, her legacy of love will live on in all who were blessed to know her.
Lovingly submitted by the family.
"Well done, thou good and faithful servant enter thou into the joy of thy Lord."
- Matthew 25:23
