LOIS MORRIS
Henderson, TN: Lois Marie (Hunter) Morris, age 91, passed away October 23, 2023, at her home.
She was born in Chester County March 22, 1932, daughter of the late Will and Cora Colston Hunter. She grew up in Chester County and attended Wilson School.
She married James Leonard Morris in 1947. They lived most of their lives in Chester County. Mr. Morris preceded her in passing on April 6, 2004.
Lois sold insurance for Liberty National for several years retiring in the mid 1990’s.
She was a member of the Antioch Baptist Church. Lois was faithful to read her Bible and she could quote a lot of it.
She enjoyed gardening, sewing, quilting, and cooking (chocolate pie was her specialty.)
She loved her family and grandchildren who dearly loved their grandmother and “G.G.”
Mrs. Morris is survived by a son, Steve Morris of Henderson; two daughters, Barbara Robertson (Steve) of Henderson and Brenda Guzzo (Pete) of Jackson; five grandchildren, Stephanie Weeks (Brent), Erin Perrigo (Henry), Olivia, Peter, and Joel Guzzo; six great grandchildren and one on the way.
She was preceded in death by her parents and husband; four brothers, Thomas Edward Hunter, William Bernice Hunter, Roy Hunter, and Ira Cecil Hunter; and three sisters, Willie Mae Hailey, Inetha Haggard, and an infant sister.
Funeral services will be 2:00 PM Sunday October 29, 2023, at Shackelford Funeral Directors – Crook Avenue Chapel with burial in Hunter Cemetery with Hunter Callis officiating.
The family will receive friends at Crook Avenue from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Saturday and from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM Sunday.
