Lois C. Rouser, age 92, of Grove City, passed away Thursday evening, October 17, at Bethesda Grand in Willmar.
Visitation will begin at 12:30 p.m. followed by a celebration of life service at 2 p.m. on Saturday, November 2, at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Atwater. Interment will be at Glen Haven Memorial Gardens in Crystal at a later date. Arrangements are entrusted to the Peterson Brothers Atwater Funeral Home. www.petersonbrothers.com
Lois was born June 23, 1932, in Cambridge Minnesota, the daughter of Arnold and Alby Myren (Anderson). Lois lived in Cambridge, MN until graduation, when she moved to Minneapolis where she worked at the Twin Cities Arsenal Plant and IDS. Lois worked at IDS for 12 years, in the funds transfer area, where she met John, when he came into fix the adding machines and typewriters.
On June 2, 1962, Lois was united in marriage to John Stanley Rouser and they made their home in Burnsville. In 1973, they moved to Atwater and raised their two sons Bruce and Dan. Lois and John owned The J & L Club and The Atwater Bakery where she poured her love of cooking into every meal she made. She also drove school bus for over 30 years for the Atwater school district.
Lois was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church in Atwater and member of the American Legion Auxiliary for many years. She was on the bowling league.
Lois cherished entertaining family and friends at their cabin on Diamond Lake or at their home in Atwater. Lois was a great cook and enjoyed making a feast for the family. She always had her beloved Chocolate Chip cookies or chip dip on hand for snacking. Her and John treasured dancing together and would tear up the dance floor whenever they could. She enjoyed traveling cross country with John to see family. One of her favorite pastimes was getting together with friends to play cards. Towards the end she enjoyed putting puzzles together with her friends
Lois is survived by her sons, Bruce (Christine) Rouser and their seven children Micah (Essie) Rouser, Josh (Sonya) Rouser, Hannah (Anthony) Cox, Caleb (Alicia) Rouser, Alyssa (Caleb) Hicks, Charity (Stephen) Castleman, Cathryn (Jaden) Skaar; Daniel (Cheryl) Rouser and their four children Aaron Rouser, Kyrietta (Luke) Weber, Hayden (Sydney) Rouser, Sam Rouser and twenty-four great grandchildren. Also surviving is one brother, Lyle Myren; and numerous nieces and nephews she adored.
She is preceded in death by her loving husband of 50 years; her parents, Arnold and Alby; her brothers, Larry and Leroy; and her mother and father-in–law, Charles Sr. and Enid Rouser.
