Lois Evelyn Schuster. Age 89 of Murphy, North Carolina, formerly of Newport.
Beloved wife of the late Max Schuster. Loving mother of Deborah Lynn Schuster (William Reisdorf), Paul David (Victoria) Schuster, Terri Ann (David) Leslie and Philip Russell (Brenda) Schuster. Dearest grandmother of Amanda (Guy) Schroeder, Britt (Ben) Congdon, Kara Dowler and Benjamin Schuster (Randi Warner). Dear great grandmother of Daniel Schroeder (Jazzlyn Hayes), Grady Schroeder, Garrett Schroeder, Russell Dowler, Luke Dowler and Annalee Raine Dowler. Sister of Richard Suter and the late Donald Suter. Lois was excited with anticipation for the arrival of her first great great grandson, Max; due in December.
Lois was born June 12, 1936 in Highland Park to Harold Russell and Evelyn (Jenks) Suter. She was a graduate of Roosevelt High School in Wyandotte and went on to work as an administrative assistant at Catalytic Combustion Corp (a corporation where her father was a cofounder), Wyandotte Chemicals (now BASF) and finishing her career with SOMAT Engineering. Lois resided in the downriver communities of Wyandotte, Grosse Ile and South Rockwood, before spending some time in Apache Junction, AZ and finally settling in Newport.
Lois' primary life function was serving her Lord and Savior. Not only was she a pastor's wife, she especially enjoyed children's ministries and served as a Sunday school teacher for most of her adult life. Several of her past students went on to the mission field. Lois also had a heart for Samaritan's Purse Ministries, particularly Operation Christmas Child where she actively participated for many years. She was always very active in VBS and multiple women's ministries. Lois was a beloved mentor to countless women who loved her dearly. One could always count on her for Godly advice and counsel.
Lois was known for her glowing love and joy for Jesus. She seemed to wear a perpetual smile, no matter what was going on around her. Many women call her "The Proverbs 31 woman." Her four adult children do "rise up and call her blessed."
Lois was passionate for gardening, listening to and watching birds, along with working on jigsaw puzzles. She was always up for a friendly game of Spite & Malice.
