Lois Scorgie

Lois Marie (Lund) Scorgie, 77, passed away March 29, 2025, after a long battle with cancer.
Lois was born April 18, 1947, in Eau Claire, WI, to Lester and Marie (Person) Lund. She spent her early years in Levis, WI, until the family moved to Pepin, WI, in 1954. Lois graduated as a salutatorian from Pepin High School in 1965 and from UW-Eau Claire in 1969 with a degree in Library Science. She spent summers working at Camp Augustana in Lake Geneva, WI, and often reminisced about her wonderful time there.
Her first job after graduation was at Marquette University. While in Milwaukee, she met Robert "Bob" Scorgie. They married on May 11, 1974, and settled in Madison, WI.
Lois and Bob enjoyed playing recorders and Early Music instruments in several groups and performed for 25 years at the Renaissance Faire in Bristol, WI. She worked as the Volunteer Coordinator for Wisconsin Public Radio from 1980-1999, when they both retired and moved to Eau Claire, WI.
Lois continued playing music in Eau Claire, and attended the Early Music Festival in Whitewater, WI, for many years. Lois made friends everywhere she went, loved to travel, and maintained lifelong friendships with those she met.
When Bob moved to Azura Memory Care, suffering with dementia, Lois visited every day and planned many activities for the residents. She was a fierce advocate for Bob and was determined to make his life as comfortable as possible. Lois was awarded the Eau Claire Alzheimer's Association Family Caregiver Award in 2008.
Lois was involved in many groups at her church, Bethesda Lutheran, and loved attending concerts in the area with friends, no matter the genre.
Lois loved to write, record stories, and was published in the Eau Claire Leader Telegram and Our Wisconsin magazine. She often wrote poems for birthdays and special occasions, personalizing each for the recipients. Lois remembered everything and was a great resource for maintaining family stories.
Lois is survived by her sister, Jan (Lund) Daus, niece Amy Lund (Blake Herken), sister-in-law Jean Scorgie, brother-in-law Alan (Pam) Scorgie, sister-in-law Margie Scorgie, nephews Daniel and Andrew Scorgie, niece Jean Scorgie, and best friend Karen Snowberg. She is further survived by many cousins and a wide circle of friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Bob, parents, and brothers-in-law John Scorgie and Bob Daus.
A gathering in Lois' memory will take place at a future time. Burial will be in Levis Cemetery, Osseo, WI.
