Lois Jean Steele (Bryant), 87, of Newark, died surrounded by family, on Thursday, November 6, 2025, at Hospice of Central Ohio at Licking Memorial Hospital. She was born September 8, 1938, in Piqua, Ohio to the late Floyd and Cora (Fine) Bryant.
Lois was preceded in 2000 by her husband of 35 years, Marvin. She is survived by her sister, Connie; her sons and daughters-in-law, Mark, Eric (Lisa), Scott (Melodie); and her grandchildren, Christopher, Cameron, Mary Corinne, Grace, Matthew, Cora, and Victoria (Tori).
Lois lived many roles in her eighty-seven years of life including wife and mother, homemaker, and pastor’s wife. In addition, she also worked as a childcare provider for several children in Granville and, later, at the American Red Cross in Newark. She liked to bake and do sewing crafts. She was loved and will be greatly missed by her family and friends.
A memorial service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, November 15, 2025, at Faith Fellowship Church (formerly Union Station Community Church) at 1157 Union Station Road, Granville, Ohio 43023. Interment at the family cemetery plot in Mount Sterling will be a private family event immediately following.
