Lois Darlene Weller, age 87, of Hillsboro, passed away peacefully at her home on Saturday, July 5, 2025. She was born September 18, 1937 in Dayton, the first born of eight children to the late Orville C. and Ruby Mae (Mains) Helfinstine. She was a member of the Hillsboro Bible Baptist Church where she assisted in teaching Sunday School and volunteered for many years in the kitchen with Bible Baptist Free Camp for children. Darlene was a proud believer in the Word of the Lord and supported the printing of KJV Bibles. She worked as a bookkeeper for the Harris Seybold Corporation for many years. On October 4, 1954 in Liberty, Indiana she married her late husband, Robert. Darlene enjoyed reading and spending time with her grandkids and great grandkids. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 57 years, Robert Gene Weller; son, Robert Clinton Weller; brother, Orville Clinton Helfinstine Jr.; brother-in-law, Jim Streit; and brother and sister-in-law, Roger and Doris Weller. Darlene is survived by three sons, Dennis Michael Weller and his wife, Midge, of Belfast, Mark Anthony Weller and his wife, Louise, of New York, and James Dean Weller and his wife, Renee, of Dayton; 12 grandchildren, Brittany (Daniel) Diaz, Tiffany (Tim) Shinkle, Amanda (Nathan) Sackett, Jordan (Ryan) Weller, Jeremy (Courtiney) Weller, Trevor (Indigo) Weller, Joel (Nancy) Weller, Alyssa (Kyle) McIntosh, Jon (Raychelle) Weller, Dakota (Jackie) Weller, Colton (Alyssa) Weller, and Kylee (Nick) Riccio; 42 great grandchildren; and 1 great-great grandson; five sisters, Ruth Ann (Bud) Cunningham, Eleanor Streit, Bonnie (Ron) Dues, Christine (Randell) Palmer, Pam (Chuck) Kulhanek; brother, Tim (Ana) Helfinstine; brothers and sisters-in-law, Sam & Ruth Weller and Tom & Sandy Weller; as well as many nieces and nephews. A memorial service will take place on Friday, July 25, 2025 inside the chapel at David's Cemetery, 4600 Mad River Rd, Dayton, Ohio from 11:00am until 12:00noon at which time a short graveside service will take place at 12:00noon at Darlene's graveside.
