Lola Brennan Obituary

Lola Mae Brennan (Nelson) was born on February 9, 1929, in Chicago, IL, at her Gramma Art Buchholz's house, to Earl Lloyd Nelson and Amanda Louise (nee Buchholz). She was preceded in death by her parents, Earl & Amanda, her husband Clyde, and her older sister Ruth. She is survived by her loving children – Craig (Mary Pat) and Dana (Bill) Sinn; Lola was a proud grandmother to four grandchildren: Cassie (Ben) Henrich & Patrick Brennan and Christine (Corey) Burke & Michael Sinn and was blessed with four great-grandsons: James & Blake Henrich and Carter & Cole Burke; also survived by her younger sister Carol Miller, her nephew Kim and nieces Gail and Jill and their families.

She was a middle child of 2 sisters: Ruth Irene and Carol Ann, and spent most of her life living in Villa Park, IL. She graduated from York High School in 1948 and immediately went to work at Public Service where she met Clyde Brennan and married on June 30, 1951. They had a wonderful marriage until his passing in May of 2005 after 53 years of marriage.

Lola found true happiness in tending to her flower gardens at her home and cabin. She also had a special place in her heart for dogs throughout her life whom she cared for with great love and devotion. Lola's love for her family extended into the kitchen where she delighted in cooking, baking, and entertaining for her family and loved ones. She loved spending her mornings on the phone with her sister Carol enjoying coffee and coffee cake for at least 50 years. She enjoyed her Public Service Women's Club monthly get together that continued for over 70 years. She loved to travel and camp with her family throughout most of the United States until they purchased land on Lake Gogebic in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan and built their cabin, Clyde's dream. She was very artistic – painting, sketching, sewing, knitting. She loved her home and cabin and had a knack for interior design. She loved crossword puzzles.

We'd like to extend our gratitude to Divine Hospice of Yorkville for the great care they gave Lola during her final week of life, and to the staff at Bauman Funeral Home handling the arrangements.

She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her. Lola's memory will live on in our hearts forever, providing comfort as we remember the love and joy she shared with everyone. We take solace in knowing that she is now at peace and has been reunited with those loved ones who passed before her. While always cold, she could often be found bundled in sweatshirts and blankets, and will always be remembered for her warm heart.

Family and friends are invited to gather on Saturday, December 6, 2025 from 12:00-4:00 p.m. at Bauman Family Funeral Home 5600 US Route 34 Oswego, IL. Memorial Service will begin at 4:00 p.m. Inurnment at Mt. Emblem Cemetery will take place at a later date.
