Obituary published on Legacy.com by Memorial Funeral Home - Springdale on Nov. 11, 2025.
Lola Mae (Googs) Evans Davenport passed peacefully from this life on November 9, 2025, surrounded by the love of her family. Born on November 30, 1939, to William Washington "Wash" Evans and Mildred Evelene Gosvenor Evans, Lola's life was marked by unwavering faith, deep devotion to her family, and a profound appreciation for God's creation.
Lola was the proud mother of six sons-James (Floyd) Cornelison (Debbie) of Springdale, Jerry Cornelison (Annette) of Hindsville, Jeff Cornelison (Cindy) of Springdale, Johnny Cornelison (Tina) of Hindsville, Joe Dean Davenport II (Dorie) of Siloam Springs, and Jarvis Davenport (Erin) of Tontitown-and she joyfully welcomed two bonus daughters, Deanna Kay Doshier and Diane Sachs, into her heart and home. Through the years, her family grew into a rich and loving legacy that includes 16 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren, and 3 great-great-grandchildren, each one treasured by her.
She was preceded in death by the love of her life, Joe D. Davenport, her devoted husband of 47 years. Their partnership was defined by love, strength, and steadfast faith, forming the foundation upon which their family was built. She was also preceded in death by her son, Jeff Cornelison, and her siblings Loretta, Buddy, and Dorothy, whom she now rejoins in eternal rest.
Lola was known throughout her life for her remarkable work ethic. Whether she was tending her garden, mowing, weed eating, or caring for her home and family, she approached every task with dedication and pride. Hard work was not simply something she did-it was part of who she was. She found purpose and fulfillment in doing things well and in serving others with her hands and her heart.
A lifelong servant of the Lord, Lola's faith anchored her. She faithfully participated in Bible study and drew comfort and guidance from her daily walk with God. Her church community was dear to her, and she found joy in worship, fellowship, and service.
Lola felt most at peace outdoors. Her love of gardening, flowers, and the simple beauty of nature reflected her gentle spirit. She also had a passion for genealogy and spent countless hours researching and preserving the stories of those who came before her. She loved the color red-a vibrant expression of her spirited, warm, and enduring personality.
She is survived by her siblings Willard Evans, Sam Evans, Mike Evans, Dellia Lloyd, Jean Ferguson, and Sue Evans.
Those who knew Lola will remember her kindness, her strength, and her unwavering love. Her legacy continues in the generations she nurtured, the faith she lived out every day, and the many lives she touched along her journey.
