Lola L Kinnan Kleinschrodt 1948-2023
Lola, known as Ellie, by all her friends & family, was born in Tilden, NE on September 20, 1948, to Louis & Mildred Kinnan.
She was preceded in death by her parents Louis & Mildred Kinnan; sister Penny Buck; nephew Mark Kinnan; niece Carla Buck; brother in laws Charles "Chuck" Lindgren, Tom Munson, Max Kleinschrodt and Matthew Kleinschrodt; sister-in-law Lois Kinnan.
Ellie married Micheal "Mike" Kleinschrodt in 1982 and they were married for 40 years. They resided in Minneapolis, MN and had two children, son Patrick, daughter Stefani.
Ellie had a love for sports. She enjoyed playing volleyball in high school and recreational volleyball in adulthood. She was a vital part in ensuring that her children and grandchildren were able to make it to each practice, and game as well as tournaments throughout the Midwest.
She was active within her church including a women's group they nicknamed "the Cowgirls" and was involved with confirmation, Sunday School, youth group and Girl Scouts for many years.
They loved traveling, especially to their lake cabin in Longville, MN as well as spending time outdoors fishing many Minnesota Lakes and hunting with her family. As well as yearly family reunions in her hometown of Oakdale Nebraska.
Ellie's dream vacation came true when she and her husband were able to fish and travel in Alaska.
She loved Minnesota and Nebraska University football, hockey and volleyball. She was a Gopher football season ticket holder for many years and travelled to multiple away and bowl games.
She spent her most of her career working in the accounting department for Hennepin County. She enjoyed her job very much, making life-long friends and retired in 2017 when she was 69.
Ellie was a tax professional and small business owner in South Minneapolis for more than 40 years.
Ellie was very loved by and loved many. She was surrounding with family and friends as she lost her battle to cancer following many years of fighting.
Ellie is survived by Husband Michael "Mike"; her son Patrick (Leah) Kleinschrodt; Daughter Stefani (Jeremy) Watson; grandchildren Liam, Gavin, Hayden, Landon, Carli & dog Bailey; brother Louis "Dick" Kinnan of Gibbon, NE; sisters Bobbie Munson of Valdosta, GA, Bonnie Lindgren of Vergas, MN, and Cherrie Kinnan of Vergas, MN; sister in laws Rita (Reese) Orland of San Diego, CA; Roxanne "Roxie" (Charlie) Adams of Albert Lea, MN; Rochelle "Shelly" (Marty Banks) Kleinschrodt of Berkely, CA; and Rhonda Sorenson of Tacoma WA; brother in laws Mark (Linda) Kleinschrodt of Forest Lake, MN and Miles (Dianne) Kleinschrodt of Alden, MN. 27 nieces & nephews, many great-nieces, nephews, friends and distant relatives.
Interment Fort Snelling National Cemetery
A Service will be held in her honor on Friday, December 8th, 2023, at 10:30 AM with visitation 1 hour prior at:
Minnehaha United Methodist Church
3701 E 55th St
Minneapolis, MN 55417
