Lola Ewing Sheets, 98, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Sunday, March 9, 2025, at The Manor on Lawndale in Tupelo, MS. She was born February 2, 1927, the seventh of ten children of the late Claude Tillman Ewing and Maude Rial Ewing. Lola was a lifelong member of Tupelo Baptist Church, and a long- time member of both the Tupelo Garden Club and the Tupelo Country Club, where she enjoyed many years of her passion of playing golf. Lola loved music, singing, and playing bridge with a very special group of friends. Lovingly known as Gigi to her family, her journey on this earth was one marked by love, compassion, and an unwavering faith in God.
She is survived by her daughter, Susan Mann (Art) of Sarasota, Florida; her grandchildren, Scott Collier (Kerri) of Mantachie, Rick Collier (Stephanie) of Fulton, Chris Rowland (Tish) of Nashville, Tennessee, Mark Rowland (Keri) of Franklin, Tennessee and Kacy Dixon (Patrick) of Hernando; great-grandchildren, Ivan Collier, Lauren Collier, Stone Collier, Collier Rowland, CarisBrooks Rowland, Cortlin Rowland, and Annie Dixon; and great-great grandson, Avan Collier, as well as a host of nieces, nephews, and dear friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Claude and Maude Ewing; husband, Lowell Sheets; husband and father of her children, Odis Collier; her eldest child, son, Jerry Collier; and her nine siblings: Tillman Ewing, Edward Ewing, Rebecca Ewing Bethany, Willard Ewing, Lillian Ewing Steele, Ruth Ewing Wood, Claude Ewing, Bryant Ewing, and Max Ewing.
Visitation will be at 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. on Sunday, March 23, 2025, at Pegues , Tupelo.
Celebration of Life service will follow at 1 p.m. at the Jefferson Street Chapel of Pegues Funeral Directors.
The Pallbearers will be Scott Collier, Rick Collier, Chris Rowland, Mark Rowland, Ivan Collier, and Stone Collier. The burial will be in Tupelo Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Arden Hospice (Arden Cares Foundation, P.O. Box 1267, Hattiesburg, MS 39403) or at Samaritan's Purse (sumaritianspurse.org).
