Lonnel Ray Beechum Sr., affectionately known as Lonnie was born April 7th, 1961, in Paris, Missouri, to the late Ora Beechum Sr. and Leda Beechum of Mount Vernon, NY. He received his education in the White Plains public school district and graduated in 1979. Lonnie was employed by the Pleasantville school district for 38 years and retired in 2020. Lonnie enjoyed fishing, bowling, playing dominos, and corn hole with family and friends. Lonnie peacefully transitioned on October 6th, 2024, surrounded by family and loved ones; he was predeceased in death by his father, Ora Beechum Sr., and brother, Ora Beechum Jr.; Lonnie loved and cherished his life with his wife of 30 years, Dietra Lee Beechum fondly known as Deedee. His seven children Ni’esha Hill of Palm Bay, Florida, Dajuan Hill Beechum (Amanda) of Palm Bay, Florida, La’nel Beechum Hill (Alice) of Palm Bay, Florida, Ariel Beechum of Ossining, NY, Jasmin Beechum of Elmsford, NY, Lonnel Ray Beechum Jr. (Aiyanna) of Peekskill, NY, and Morgan Beechum of Peekskill, NY; Fondly loved and remembered as “Pop-pop” to his fifteen grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren, two sisters Kimala Beechum of Florida, and Lisa Stokes (Marcus) of White Plains, NY; six sisters-in-law Lisa, Adrianna, Sheryl, Tammie, Kandi, and Pam; four brothers-in-law, Richard, Darrell, Fred, andMarcus, as well as a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Lonnel’s personality and dry sense of humor brought warmth and joy to everyone who knew him. He will be deeply missed, and memories of him will live on in the hearts of everyone who loved him.
