Lonnie Anderson Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Flanigan Funeral Home & Crematory on Dec. 1, 2025.
Lonnie Wayne Anderson passed away at the age of 65, at Freeman Hospital in Joplin, Missouri. Lonnie was one of two children born to the union of Gary Wayne and June (Wicker) Anderson. He was born on December 14, 1959, in Tulsa, Oklahoma. His family moved to Westminster, Colorado, where he grew up enjoying the outdoors. He attended school in Westminster, and that is where he met Marian, the love of his life, in 1978. They were wed on May 26, 1979, in Westminster, where they spent their early married years. They were blessed with one son, Zane, in 1981.

While in Colorado, Lonnie worked with his dad and followed in his grandfather's footsteps in the heating and air industry, working in the family business since he was 13 years old. He also worked for a time as an over-the-road truck driver. He was an active member of Disciples of Thunder, a Christian motorcycle group.

Lonnie moved his family away from the busyness of Thornton to the rural setting of southwest Missouri. There his family bought ten acres and started a hobby farm, raising cows and horses. He enjoyed bow and rifle hunting both deer and elk, collecting all kinds of baseball caps, and he was a gun enthusiast. He attended First Freewill Baptist Church for the past twelve years, and was a member of Alpha-Omegas, an MM (Motorcycle Ministry) group for the last year.

Lonnie is survived by his wife of forty-six years, Marian, his son, Zane Anderson, grandchildren: Gabriel Anderson, Kristopher Anderson, and Stormy Patterson, and two great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and by his brother, David Anderson.

Wild Man, as he was known at work, will be greatly missed by his family, friends, and motorcycle buddies. A private family service will be held at a later date.

Services are under the personal care and direction of Clark Funeral Homes.
