Lonnie Eugene Chambers, age 93 of Cumming, GA passed away Wednesday, December 14, 2022. Eugene was a lifelong resident of Forsyth County and a member of Crossroads Baptist Church. Also known as “Mr. Gene” from his 21 years at Coal Mountain Elementary School. Eugene enjoyed traveling, camping, and spending time with his family.
Eugene is preceded in death by his wife of 75 years, Inez Chambers, parents Guy and Vada Chambers, sisters, Idell Mayfield and Marcelle Mathis and brother Junior Chambers.
Eugene is survived by his loving family; children: Dorothy (Donnie) Cagle, Jackson (Deborah) Chambers, Grandchildren: David Cagle, Daniel (Alex) Cagle, Dusty (Stacey) Cagle. Great grandchildren; Brooke (Payton) Myers, Katelynn Cagle (Fiancé Eli Bearden) Kelsey and Sophia Cagle, Noah and Reed Cagle, great great grandson Miller Myers, several nieces and nephews also survive.
The family will receive friends at Ingram Funeral Home on Saturday, December 17th, 2022 from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm, and on December 18th, 2022 from 11:00 am to the hour of service. Funeral Services will be held on Sunday, December 18th, 2022 at 2:00 pm in the chapel of Ingram Funeral Home with the Rev. Donnie Nix officiating. Interment will follow at Sawnee View Gardens.
In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to Crossroads Baptist Church Building Fund. Please send donations to Roger Thomas 6050 Mayfield Drive, Cumming Ga 30041.
