After their marriage, they lived in Menno for one year where Lonnie worked for the City of Menno. Then Lonnie took a job at Welfl Construction and they moved to Yankton. He was always there supporting his grandchildren in all of their activities. He was very involved in his church and shared his many talents. Lonnie was an active member of the Yankton Elks for 41 years. He held many positions and was proud to be an Elk. Lonnie just loved people and enjoyed visiting with his family and friends over a hot cup of coffee or an ice cold beer.
