Daniel Novak, age 70, of Yankton, South Dakota, died Thursday, October 2, 2025, at Avera Sister James Care Center in Yankton, South Dakota.
A memorial gathering will be from 5:00 to 7:00 PM on Tuesday, October 7, 2025, at the Wintz & Ray Funeral Home in Yankton, South Dakota with a time of sharing at 7:00 PM. Burial will be in Sacred Heart Cemetery at a later date.
Daniel Novak was born April 1, 1955, in Yankton, South Dakota, to Joseph and Delores (Goeden) Novak. He grew up and attended school in Yankton and then began working various jobs in the Yankton area including: MTron, Sacred Heart Hospital and most recently making pizzas at Casey’s General Store. Danny was always great with numbers and loved playing pinochle, shooting pool or throwing darts. He was always looking for a good rummage sale and enjoyed collecting coins and trinkets. He had a big heart and would always want to give his family something when they left.
Survivors include his six: brothers and sisters: Richard Novak of Florida; Dennis (Sue) Novak of Sioux Falls, South Dakota; Gene (Patricia) Novak of Gilbert, Arizona; Mary (Tim,) DeNomme of Phoenix, Arizona; Phyllis (Brian Sik) Conn of Volga, South Dakota; and Gerald Novak of Yankton, South Dakota; uncles: Emil (Char) Novak and Raymond (Kate) Novak both of Yankton; and many nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his son, Seth; parents: Joseph and Delores Novak; and brother and sister-in-law: Joseph and Mavis Novak.
