Lonnie M. Padgett, 90, of Monticello, Florida, passed away in Tallahassee, Florida, on May 19, 2024, surrounded by his family. He was born in Apalachicola, Florida, on February 14, 1934, to John Walter Padgett and Iva Della Maddox. He graduated from Bay County High School and attended Gulf Coast Community College. Lonnie retired from the United States Coast Guard, as well as the Florida Department of Labor. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, traveling and spending time with his family.
Lonnie was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his wife, Evelyn "Boots" Sasser Padgett; seven children: Iva Wimp (Jim), Debbie Rashid, Jim Amburgey (Natalie), Sheree Neill (Mike), Debbie Anderson (Jim), Barbara Matthews (Charlie), and Pam Byrd; seventeen grandchildren; twenty great grandchildren; and one great great grandchild. A memorial service will be held at Beggs Funeral Home in Monticello, Florida on Saturday, May 25 beginning at 11:00 A.M.

I´m so sorry to hear about Uncle Lonnie. I will say prayers for Aunt Boots, and for all of you as well. It is a very sad time... and it´s difficult to get through. None of us knew anything about his passing. Had we known, we would´ve been there. If we can do anything, let me know. .
