Lonnie Watts Obituary

Visit the Conner-Westbury Funeral Home website to view the full obituary.
Lonnie Watts, Sr. was born on December 2, 1952, to the late Bill Watts and Ollie Mae Barkley. He was affectionately called "Cat". He was the 4th of 14 siblings where they grew up in a home where family and unity were not only taught but lived daily.

He served as an aircraft mechanic and repairman in the U.S. Army. After he was honorably discharged, Lonnie Sr. became self-employed as an expert in sheet rocking. There was nothing he couldn't do when it came to building. He was definitely one of the best to ever do it.

Lonnie Sr. transitioned from this life in his home on September 30, 2025. He was preceded in death by his parents, Ollie Mae Barkley Watts and Bill Watts; siblings, Willie James Watts, Willey Barkley, Peter Watts, Willie B. Watts, Bobby Watts, Mary Goodrum, Doris Watts, and Ronnie Watts, Sr.; and grandson, Marques Antwain Welch, Jr.

Those left to cherish Lonnie Watts Sr.'s memories include wife, Nancy Watts; his children, Tammy Watts, Mension Watts, Lonnie Watts, Jr., Zoie Watts, Zoietia Watts, Zurie McDowell and Brittany Walker; siblings, Katie Mae Barkley, Ester (Leslie) Patton, Betty Watts, Charlie (Sandra) Watts, and Carrie Watts; grandchildren, Latisha Sands, Quentia Sands, Lakyna Sands, Mariques Sands, Sojourner Welch, Zikyha Lindsey, Wazon Lindsey, I'Naja Taylor, Ly'Angel Watts, Alonnis Watts, Lonnie Jr. Watts, Amiracle Watts, Zayveun Watts, Jabari Watts, Aahmez Dennis, Jamel Bray, Zakius Parks, Bailey Thomas, and Zaiden McDowell; 13 great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends.

Visitation with the family will be on Friday, October 10, 2025, from 4:00 pm until 6:00 pm at Conner-Westbury Funeral Home. The funeral service will be on Saturday, October 11, 2025, at 2:00 pm in the funeral home chapel with Pastor Perry Wilson officiating.
