It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Lonny Lamont Jensen, a beloved husband, father, papa, brother, and friend, who left this world in the early hours of May 7, 2025. Born on September 19, 1954, in Logan Utah to Wesley Ova and Moziene Hurst Jensen. Lonny was a man whose spirit and humor brightened the lives of all who knew him.

Lonny graduated from Logan High School and went on to attend Weber State University earning his degree in Plumbing and Pipe Fitting. In 1974-1976 he served an honorable mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in the Ohio West Virginia and Kentucky Louisville mission. Lonny then went on to build a life centered around his family, his passions, and his generosity. On September 17, 1976, he married the love of his life and eternal companion Peggy Sue Becker in the Logan LDS Temple and together they raised two children, Westen Richard, and Mikenzi Dawn.

An avid outdoorsman, Lonny loved spending his time in nature, whether it was fishing, hiking, camping or hunting. He found peace in the wild and always sought to share that love of nature with his family and friends. He was also a proud Harley Davidson enthusiast, with a deep love for the open road and the camaraderie of the motorcycle community. For many years he served on the Cache County Search and Rescue, with experiences that changed his life. He was truly honored when he became a member of the Patriot Guard Riders, being able to bring our soldiers back home.

Known for his quick wit and infectious sense of humor, Lonny had a gift for making everyone around him laugh. Whether through a joke, a smile, or a funny story, he could always brighten your day. But beyond the humor, it was his selflessness that truly defined him. Lonny was always the first to lend a hand to someone in need, offering help without hesitation or expectation. His kindness and generosity left an indelible mark on everyone he encountered, and his big hugs were priceless.

Lonny’s legacy will live on through his family, friends, and all those whose lives he touched. He was a man who loved deeply, lived fully, and gave selflessly. He will be dearly missed but never forgotten.

Lonny is survived by his wife, Peggy Jensen; children, Westen (Mandy) Jensen and Mikenzi (Mike) Smith, 9 grandchildren, 3 brothers; Jerry (Marsha), Tony (Joyce), Deroy (Linda), In law Annette Jensen, Verne Becker, Janice Becker, Duane (Lori) Becker, Lorinda Mann, Carin Green, and many nieces and nephews.

He is proceeded in death by his parents, brother Therol, In laws Fred and Arlene Becker and brother in law Bobby Becker, Roger Green, and Alan Mann.

There will be a visitation on Monday, May 12th from 6-8 pm at Nelson Funeral Home located at 162 E. 400 N. Logan, UT. A celebration of Lonny’s life will be held on Tuesday, May 13th at 11am with a visitation 1 hour prior to services at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints 640 N. 200 E. Smithfield, UT.

Rest in peace, Dad. You’ve left us with memories we will cherish forever, and we know your laughter and love will continue to guide us.
