Lora Lee Byrom, devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend passed away on Sunday, September 21, 2025 in the Saint George Regional Hospital surrounded by family after her courageous three-year battle with cancer, at the age of 72.
Lora Lee was born on January 15, 1953 in Kanab, Utah to Charles DeMotte and Louise R. Nash. She grew up in Kanab and graduated from Kanab High School. Lora Lee's life changed forever when she was introduced to Allen Byrom after he pulled on her pigtails. They had a whirlwind courtship while Lora Lee went through school and Allen was deployed in Vietnam. They corresponded diligently while he was serving. They married on April 10, 1971 in Las Vegas, Nevada after Allen returned home. They made homes together in Fredonia, Cameron, Saint George, and Holbrook, before settling in Page, where they lived happily together for 47 years.
Throughout her life in Page, Lora Lee worked several odd jobs, such as: RD's Drive Inn, Budget Rental Car, the Arizona Republic, and then Walmart for 13 years to assist in putting her three kids through college.
Her home was a place of welcome–canned goods, handcrafted gifts, and conversation were always waiting inside. Lora Lee enjoyed many hobbies, including sewing amazing creations for her family members, friends, and even strangers, camping on the Kaibab, loving on her pets, spending time with her friends–especially on girls trips, and making memories with her family.
Lora Lee was a warm, vibrant, and social person, who made friends everywhere she went. Lora Lee was active in her church and community. She cherished every moment spent cooking for her grandchildren, celebrating holidays with her family, and taking camping trips with Allen to the mountains with their pups, who she loved so dearly.
Lora Lee is survived by her spouse of more than 54 years, Allen Byrom; her son Monte (Crista) Byrom; her daughters Allison (Jason) Pfister and Kim (Justin) Heatwole; and her seven grandchildren Darrian Heatwole, Cassidy (Nathan) Miller, Zack Pfister, Megan Byrom, Kaydence Tsinigine, Samuel Byrom, and Hunter Heatwole.
A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, September 27, 2025 at the Stake Center in Page, 1301 North Navajo Drive. The family viewing will be held at 9:00 A.M., with funeral services beginning at 10:00 A.M (AZ Time). The burial will follow at the Kanab City Cemetery, 450 E. 300 S., Kanab.
The family would like to thank the compassionate doctors, nurses and caregivers that crossed Lora Lee's path throughout her treatment process. In lieu of flowers, please donate generously to the American Cancer Society's cancer research efforts at donate.cancer.org.
Her courage, kindness, and unwavering love are a testament to the incredible woman that she was. She leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, and cherished memories that will live on in the hearts of all who knew her.
