Loraine Theresa Byrn

Loraine Theresa (Wooley) Byrn, age 76, of Georgetown, Indiana, passed away peacefully on May 13, 2025.
Born on October 11, 1948, in Louisville, Kentucky, Loraine was the daughter of the late Marshall and Josephine (Mohr) Wooley. She was a proud graduate of Morgan High School, Class of 1966, after attending St. Michael Grammar School. On April 15, 1966, she married the love of her life, Michael Byrn, and together they shared 59 years of marriage.
Loraine was a dedicated worker and spent many years employed as a production worker at Squire Boone Village in New Albany, IN. She was a devoted member of St. Michael Catholic Church in Bradford, IN, and enjoyed simple pleasures-metal detecting, reading, and, most of all, spending cherished time with her family.
She is preceded in death by her parents; her son, Anthony Byrn; and her sisters Mary Ashley, Stella Heilig, and Patricia Dodge.
Loraine is survived by her loving husband, Michael Byrn; son, Michael (Kathy) Jay Byrn; daughter, Valerie (Travis) Trusty; and sister, Jo Thrasher. She also leaves behind many dear friends and extended family who will remember her warmth, kindness, and joyful spirit.
Visitation will be held from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM on Saturday, May 17, 2025, at Swarens Funeral Home in Ramsey, IN. Funeral Mass will follow at 1:00 PM at the funeral home. Burial will take place at Byrneville Cemetery.
