Richard Delano Schwartz, age 92, of Corydon, Indiana, passed away peacefully on October 5, 2025.
He was born on March 26, 1933, in Corydon to Clarence Hurley and Mary (Hannel) Schwartz. A proud veteran, Richard served his country honorably in the United States Army during the Korean War. Following his military service, he worked as a Maintenance Technician for ICI in Charlestown.
On November 19, 1955, Richard married the love of his life, Marilyn (Dottai) Schwartz. Together, they built a life full of love and adventure, living for a time in Wisconsin before eventually returning to Richard's hometown of Corydon.
Richard had a deep passion for aviation and enjoyed fishing, traveling, and camping. However, his greatest joy came from spending time with his family.
He was preceded in death by his parents and ten siblings.
Richard is survived by his beloved wife of nearly 70 years, Marilyn Schwartz; his children: Lee Schwartz, Debra Mathes, Lori Schroeder, Daniel (Patricia) Schwartz, and David (Laura) Schwartz; eleven grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Cremation was chosen, with a memorial service to be announced at a later date. Arrangements are being handled by Swarens Funeral Home.
