Lore Odom Johnson

Funeral services for Mrs. Lore Odom Johnson will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, March 25, 2025, at Bethel Baptist Church, Plainview, with Reverend Brad Perkins officiating. Interment will follow in Oakhill Cemetery, Oakdale, under the direction of Rush Funeral Home, Oakdale.
Mrs. Johnson, 97, of Pitkin, entered eternal rest on Saturday, March 22, 2025, in her residence surrounded by her loving family.
She was a loving mother and grandmother. Lore was a proud member of Bethel Baptist Church and the Four Winds Tribe Louisiana Cherokee. When she was young, she enjoyed playing high school basketball. She worked at Oakdale Community Hospital for several years before retiring at the age of 92. She enjoyed bowling, quilting, and maintaining a well-manicured yard that was acorn free. She loved to play with her grandchildren and watch them all play sports. Above all else, she loved the Lord and going to church. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
She was preceded in death by her husband, R.L. Johnson; two sons, Darwin Johnson and Edwin Johnson; her parents, Jim and Addelar Odom; six brothers; three sisters; one great grandson, Christian Jordan; and one great granddaughter, Ellie Thompson.
Those left to mourn her loss and cherish her memory include one son, Carlos Johnson; three daughters-in-law, Dianne Johnson, Silvia Johnson, and Ginger Johnson; ten grandchildren; twenty great grandchildren; and eight great-great grandchildren with one on the way.
A time of visitation will be held at Bethel Baptist Church, Plainview, on Tuesday, March 25, 2025, from 9:00 a.m. until time of services.
Honored to serve as pallbearers are: Ethan, Wade, Mark, Erby, Josh, Eric, Noah, and B.J. Honorary pallbearers will be Darnell, Nathan, Jerad, Caden, Gevin, Lane, and Keelan.
