Lore Roesner, age 95, of Maumee, Ohio, passed away peacefully on May 23, 2025, at Bowling Green Manor in Bowling Green, Ohio.
Born on January 5, 1930, in Düsseldorf, Germany, to Leopold and Ilse (Hecht) Vogel, Lore's life was marked by resilience, compassion, and an enduring spirit. A Holocaust survivor, she was among the last deported from Germany at the age of nine-a journey that shaped her strength and perspective throughout her life.
Lore built a meaningful career in the medical field as a laboratory technician. She was a longtime parishioner of St. Sebastian Catholic Church in Akron, Ohio, and later became a devoted member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Maumee after relocating. Lore was an amazing cook and had a passion for baking. Every holiday season, she lovingly prepared dozens of cookies to share with family and friends. In her retirement, Lore continued to give, by twice a week dedicating her time as a volunteer at Summa Health System's Akron campus.
Known for her vivacious personality, Lore brought joy and warmth to every room she entered. Her outgoing nature and zest for life left a lasting impression.
She is survived by her loving daughter, Carolyn A. (Joseph) Farina; step-daughter, Renate (Jared) Gordon; cherished grandchildren, John R. (Kathryn) Hubbard, Daniel R. (Jessica Flowers) Hubbard, Michael A. (Alicia) Farina, and John T. (Breagh) Farina; and her adored great-grandchildren, Adeline R. Hubbard, Leopold E. Hubbard, Bonnie A. Farina, and Liliana S. Farina. Lore is preceded in death by her husband, Roland L. Roesner; and son, Gordon R. Roesner.
Visitation will be held on Monday, June 2, 2025 from 9:30 am until the time of the funeral mass at 10:30 am in St. Joseph Catholic Church, 104 W. Broadway St, Maumee, OH. Burial will be private. Memorial contributions may be made to the Bowling Green Manor Activities Fund. The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff of Bowling Green Manor for their exceptional care and compassion. Arrangements by Maison Dardenne Walker Funeral Home, Maumee, OH.
