Loree A. Besser, 70, passed away unexpectedly at her home in Nisswa on January 30, 2025.
A Celebration of Life will be held at the Brenny Funeral Chapel, 7348 Excelsior Rd N, Baxter, MN 56425 from 4-7 PM on Friday, February 7th. A short memorial service will follow at 7 PM, with a lunch to follow.
Loree A. Besser was born in St Cloud, Minnesota to George Besser Jr and Marge Besser. She grew up in rural Sauk Rapids. She attended Sauk Rapids High School and St Cloud State University, graduating with a degree in Teaching and Physical Education. Loree began her career with Burger King Corporation, managing several stores in the Minnesota area, as well as assisting with the start-up of international stores in Europe. Later, she worked in Elder Care, managing several care facilities, most recently, Excelsior Place Assisted Living in Baxter, Minnesota. Loree enjoyed her home and was meticulous in her care for it. She loved animals, and especially her beloved dogs. She enjoyed living in the Gull Lake area as well as traveling. She was a volunteer at Let’s Go Fishing Brainerd Lakes Chapter, and served as President from 2022 to 2024, and volunteered for many years. She was also involved with Special Olympics as a volunteer.
Loree is survived by her companion and canine friend, Pearl, one sister, Lana (Larry) and three brothers Lonnie (Mary), Larry (Peggy) and Lorin (Cindy), as well as many long-time close friends. She is also survived by ten nieces and nephews, Tara, Travis, Shane, Blake, Cole, Robyn, William, Kacie, Tony and Connor and seventeen great nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents.
In lieu of flowers, memorials to Brainerd Lakes Chapter of Let’s Go Fishing (P O Box 257, Brainerd, MN 56401) are preferred.
