Colonie- Lorelei E. Notro, 69, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on September 19, 2025. Born in Gloversville, she was the daughter of the late Dorothy and William J. Haggart Jr. Lorelei is survived by her loving husband of 40 years, William J. Notro.
Lori did not lead a boring life. She was a nurse, the first female firefighter for the Village of Colonie Fire Dept., as well as on the ladies Colonie Auxillary, Colonie EMS, avid camper, motorcyclist, golfer, cruiser, and she was a past secretary for the Adirondack Bluegrass League. She had a hard time sitting still and always needed something to do.
In addition to her husband, Lori is survived by her daughter Julia A. DiGioacchino (Michael). She was the loving grandma to Aurelia, Giada and Tino. Lori absolutely loved being a grandma. She will also be missed by her siblings, Mary Frehulfer (Robert), William Haggart, John Haggart (Amy), Amy Almy, Rebecca Sirigiano (Charles) and Thomas Haggart. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
The family would like to give a special thank you to all the staff at St. Peter’s Hospital and Hospice as well as NYOH for the love and care given to Lori and her family.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Cancer Society or a charity of your choice.
Calling hours will be held on Wednesday, September 24, 2025 from 930am-1130am at New Comer Cremations & Funerals, 343 New Karner Road, Colonie, NY 12205. A funeral service will begin at 11:30am with inurnment following at Gerald B.H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery.
