Lorene M. Finch

Lorene Mary Finch, 63, passed away surrounded by her family on September 26, 2025, in Sioux Falls, SD. Lorene was born on July 21, 1962, in Manhattan, KS, to Alan Roelfs and Anita Mohr. During her childhood, she and her two siblings settled near the Twin Cities, MN. She graduated from Alexander Ramsey High School in 1980 and later attended Northeast Metro Technical School. On September 9, 1989, she married Norman Finch in Maplewood, MN. In 2024, Lorene moved to Lennox, SD, to be closer to her family.

Throughout her career, Lorene worked in machine engineering, serving as a senior buyer, sourcing specialist, and consultant. She contributed her skills to ComTal and NACS before retiring from Preco.

Lorene loved the water, sunshine, and a cocktail on the beach. She had lake homes in Wisconsin, where she joyfully hosted Fourth of July celebrations with family and friends. She enjoyed relaxing days on the pontoon, watching her nieces and grandson on the lake, and spending time on the golf course. She also treasured time with her husband and her beloved dogs-Pulltab and later Ashley-as well as playing games with friends. During the cold winter months, she loved being a snowbird in Texas or Mexico, enjoying the warmth and company of her friends. A free spirit, Lorene carried joy wherever she went, making friends easily and leaving a lasting impression on everyone she met.

Lorene is survived by her brother and sister, David Roelfs of Lennox, SD, and Judy Bertram of Ashland, VA; her nieces Jessica, Samantha, Kimberly, Amber, and Mindy; Norman (Kathleen) Finch Jr.; her grandson, Cody (Amanda) Finch; and great-granddaughter, Scarlett Finch, all of North Saint Paul, MN; as well as many extended family members and close friends who will miss her dearly. She was preceded in death by her parents, Alan Roelfs, James and Anita Mohr, and her former husband of 33 years, Norman Finch.
