Lorene Wolfe Obituary
She was born December 8, 1921, in Pilot Grove, the daughter of Elmer John and Marcia Alma (Schlotzhauer) Stegner.
On November 28, 1941, in Virginia Beach, VA, she married Lloyd Meredith Huckabay, who preceded her in death on August 9, 1970.
On May 1, 1976, in Pilot Grove, she married Warren Woodrow "Woody" Wolfe, who preceded her in death on August 14, 2005.
As a young woman, Lorene went to welding school to support the war effort, though she never went overseas.
Lorene worked for Shelter Insurance Company and sold Avon. She was an active member of Wesley Chapel in Pilot Grove and belonged to the Cooper County Historical Society.
She enjoyed vegetable and flower gardening, reading and traveling. In her younger years, she bowled on a league.
Surviving are four children, Marcia Bryant of Pilot Grove, Wanda Brechler (Gene) of Paducah, KY, Nancy Huckabay Edwards of Winnsboro, TX, and James Huckabay (Cheryl) of Boonville; two stepsons, Wendell Wolfe (Kay) and Bruce Wolfe (Harriet), both of Pilot Grove; nine grandchildren, Tammy Brocaille, Lori Swearingin, Holly Ballew, Christy Hall, David Brechler, Joel Jaeger, Julie Jaeger, Courtney Huckabay and James Huckabay; five step-grandchildren, Clint Wolfe, Cara Hoff, David Wolfe, Jason Wolfe and Brian Wolfe; several great-grandchildren; and two sisters-in-law, Betty Stegner and Jeanette Stegner.
In addition to her husbands and parents, she was preceded in death by five siblings, Laura Gail Schler, Rudy Stegner, LeRoy Stegner, Henry Stegner and Wanda Phillips; a step-grandson, Chad Wolfe; son-in-law, James Edwards.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, July 23, 2022, at Wesley Chapel in Pilot Grove, with Rev. Jeff Brocaille officiating.
Casket bearers will be grandsons.
Burial will be in Pilot Grove Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Friday, July 22, 2022, at Meisenheimer-Page-Dady Funeral Home in Pilot Grove.
Memorials are suggested to a charity of the donor's choice.
