Loretta Acy

1935 - 2026

Loretta Robertson Acy, 90, of Coila, MS, passed away peacefully at her home on Monday, March 23, 2026. Visitation will be held on Saturday, March 28th from 4 p.m.- 6 p.m. at Williams & Lord Funeral Home in Greenwood. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Sunday, March 29th at Mt. Olive Baptist Church in Carroll County, with burial to follow in the church cemetery. A brief visitation will be held prior to the service at the church at 1 p.m.

Loretta was born on September 15, 1935 to Vardaman and Mamie Robertson in Carroll County. She attended Black Hawk School and graduated from Vaiden High School.

She married Bobby A. Acy on May 14, 1954. They were happily married for fifty-four years, and they raised their family in Greenwood. Loretta worked briefly in Greenwood Public School cafeterias and as a recorder in the USDA cotton classing facility in Greenwood. Her primary career was business manager in their family operation of Acy Electric Service. Loretta and Bobby were active members of Immanuel Baptist Church in Greenwood, and later of Mt Olive Baptist Church.

Loretta was a member of the Black Hawk Homemakers Club, the primary supporter of the Black Hawk School. She also enjoyed working with Samaritan's Purse Operation Christmas Child and other missions helping to spread the Gospel of Christ. She lived out the love she had for her Lord and Saviour by being constantly aware of opportunities to share Him with others.

She is survived by her three children, Donna Acy Reid (Bill), Marsha Acy Clark (Jack) and Stanley Acy (Linda), nine grandchildren, Clay Reid (Jamie), Emily Reid Mendoza (Christian), Erin Reid, Rachel Reid Morris (Casey), Justin Clark (Bethany), Preston Clark (Anna Merritt), Janna Clark Gillette (Eric), Carley Acy Norman (Cole) and Katie Acy Aldridge (Brad), seventeen great-grandchildren, sister-in-law, Sarah Marquis Roberston, and a host of nieces and nephews.

Loretta was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Bobby A. Acy, siblings, Lee Lawson "Bud" Robertson, Guy Robertson, L.V. Robertson, Albert Robertson, Juanita Robertson Daves, and Arcola Robertson Elliott, and great-grandson, Sam Shepherd Clark.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations to the Mt Olive Baptist Church Cemetery Fund at 3358 County RD 23, Greenwood, MS 38930 or Black Hawk Homemakers Club at 2481 CR 158, Coila, MS 38923.
