Loretta Mae (Selch) Allison
Loretta Mae (Selch) Allison, 91, passed away at Sugar Grove Senior Living on September 14, 2025. Loretta was born at home on December 27, 1933 to Virgil and Lurah (Minton) Selch, in Hall Indiana.

Loretta graduated as the Salutatorian of her class from Monrovia High School in 1952. She earned a scholarship to attend college, but instead married her high school sweetheart, Paul James Allison, on May 8, 1952. At that time, Paul was serving in the United States Air Force in Texas. They were blessed with four children- Sondra (Butch) Smith of Avon; David (Pat) Allison of Mooresville; Peggy (James) White of Apollo Beach, Florida and Melanie (Brian) Corya of Mooresville.

Loretta and Paul were married for 60 years, before his passing in 2012. Loretta was also preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Verl Selch.

Loretta was a long-time and active member of the Mt. Pleasant Christian Church in Hall, and a member of the Women's Group. She enjoyed all kinds of music and played the piano and organ for church services for many years. While Paul was in the Air Force, Loretta worked as a secretary at the Military Base. Paul and Loretta eventually owned and operated the Hall Store and Loretta was also the Postmaster and a Census Taker.

Loretta also enjoyed being a mother, traveling to Florida, sewing, reading, writing, making ceramics, and spending time with her family. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and caregiver for many family members. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends, especially for her loving words and kindness.

Loretta is survived by her four children; grandchildren Amber (Andron) Dodson, Ashley (Adam) Arnold, Erin Allison (David), Chantel (Drake) Starnes; Christopher (Marissa) White, Alvin (Carley) White III, James White III, Cameron (Alivia) Stamper, Amy (Doug) Powlen, Jacob Corya, Jacynda Corya, and 15 great grandchildren.

Visitation will be held from 4 to 8 p.m. on Thursday, September 18th at Carlisle-Branson Funeral Service & Crematory, Mooresville. Services will be held at 1 p.m. with visitation one hour prior on Friday, September 19th, at Mt. Pleasant Christian Church of Hall, 5830 W. Hurt Road, Monrovia, IN 46157. Burial will follow in Mt.
