Loretta Rydzewski Baranski, 94, of Erie, passed away in the presence of her loving daughter Wednesday September 3, 2025. She was born in Erie on February 24, 1931 a daughter of the late James H. and Helen Walczak Rydzewski.

Loretta graduated from Villa Maria Academy and went on to attend Erie Commercial College. She was a member of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Catholic Church and was an avid Pinochle player. She also enjoyed garage sales, gardening, antiques, and American history.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, Edwin "Chuck" Baranski; her granddaughter, Stephanie Baranski; her sister, Susan Rydzewski; and her brother, Edward Reed.

Survivors include her son, James Baranski (Michele); her daughter, Lilly Baranski; four grandchildren, Bradley Baranski (Robin), Aspen and Axl Baranski, and Chelsey Happy; two great grandchildren, Blake and Elizabeth; and many nieces, nephews, and Godchildren.

Friends are invited to a Funeral Mass at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Catholic Church on Saturday September 13th at 10 a.m. Burial will be private in Calvary Cemetery.

I remember Chuck and Loretta as friends of my Uncle Lou and Aunt Rita. They were so nice and seemed like a fun couple. I would see them mostly at family get togethers at my Uncles. Fond memories.
