Loretta G. Davidson, 94, of Duluth, entered eternal rest on Saturday, May 25th at St. Luke’s, with her family by her side. Loretta was born Feb. 22, 1930 in New York Mills, MN. The daughter of Leif Anton Binde, a Norwegian Immigrant, and Elina Neuvonen, was a hard worker with the heart of a servant.
The Binde’s moved to Duluth where Loretta attended Cobb, East and graduated from Duluth Central. She met Robert (Bob) Davidson in 1953 before moving to Minneapolis in 1955. They had their second date in 1956 and were married on Aug. 9, 1958. They shared the next 56 years nurturing their family and faithfully serving St. John’s Church. Loretta served on the funeral lunch committee and Women Living in Faith. She enjoyed cooking and sewing, especially baptismal robes for many families at St. Johns.
Loretta worked at Western Auto Parts but is best remembered as a tax preparer for H & R Block until she retired in 1993.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Leif and Elina; siblings, Leif and Lorraine; son, Neil and her husband Bob.
Loretta is survived by her son, Kirk (Lisa); daughter-in-law Debi; grandchildren, Stephen, Nicholas, Kaleigh, Rebekah, Pam, Sandi and Andrew; several great grandchildren; two great great grandchildren and many nieces, nephews and friends. She will be greatly missed.
Visitation will be Thursday starting at 10am with Mass of Christian Burial at 11am at St. John’s Church, 4230 St. John Ave., Duluth, MN. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery.
