Loretta D. Eastwood of Conway, SC and formerly of Mahopac, NY passed away on Saturday, May 4, 2024 at the age of 71. She was born in Mount Vernon, NY on November 5, 1952, the daughter of Norman and Maria (Berenice) Blake.
Loretta earned her Associate's Degree from Dutchess Community College. Loretta was a registered nurse and worked at Westchester Medical Center in Valhalla, NY for 17 years and cared for the residents at Somers Manor Nursing Home in Somers, NY for the next 17 years after leaving Westchester Medical Center. She was licensed as a registered nurse in both New York and South Carolina.
Loretta was a Chaplain and member of the Sons of Italy; a member of the Moose Lodge, and the Giddeons. She enjoyed attending Bethany Bible Chapel, Red Mills Baptist Church and Patterson Baptist Church. She was a serious prayer warrior.
Loretta enjoyed shopping and traveling to Europe, Italy and England. She especially enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren.
On January 12,1975 she married Earl G. "Gary" Eastwood at Holy Name of Jesus Church in Valhalla, NY. In addition to Gary, she is survived by her children, Earl G. Eastwood Jr. and his wife, Sarah of Oakdale, LA and Stephanie Fanelli and her husband, Anthony of Simpsonville, SC as well as her 6 beloved grandchildren, Noah, Sadie, Jessica and Ellie Eastwood and Gabrielle and Michael Fanelli. Her sister, Alma Blake died earlier.
Visiting will be held on Tuesday, May 14 from 4-8 pm at Joseph J. Smith Funeral Home, 692 US Route 6, Mahopac, NY. Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday May 15 at 10 am at Red Mills Baptist Church, 531 Route 6N, Mahopac Falls, NY with interment to follow at Raymond Hill Cemetery, Carmel, NY.
