Loretta Galloway Obituary
Mrs. Loretta (Mama La) Galloway was born to Roland & Katherine Durden, Sr. on March 28,
1943. She was a member of Willow Plant Missionary Baptist Church. On Friday night, January
23, 2026, she answered her call to eternal peaceful rest.
She was a graduate of Fessenden High School. After high school, Loretta started a career as a
seamstress, and was employed by Mark III industries for many years before retiring.
Preceded in death by: her Husband: Kermit Galloway, Son: Kermit L. Galloway, Grandson:
Dewayne Galloway, Parents: Roland & Katherine Durden, and Siblings: Essie Gordon, Vermelle
Webb, & Alphonso Durden.
She leaves to cherish her memories: Her children, Cynthia (Edwin) Barnes, Sr., Jacqueline
Nichols, Vickie (Napoleon) DuBois, Terri (Booker) Lyons, and Wayne Galloway, Sr.. Her
grandchildren: Lasheena (Leo) Shuman, Martekki (Joshua) Hampton, Tiffany (Romell)
Reynolds, Lavoya Nichols, Victoria (Raheem) Freeman, Jasmine (Eugene) Clinton, Wayne
Galloway, Jr., Edwin Barnes, Jr., Roland Jenkins, Jr., Keiton Galloway, Jarvis (Anaya) Lyons,
Kayden Galloway, and Jayden Galloway, Turquoise DuBois, Navondra DuBois, Deontae Lyons,
& Darius Lyons. 28 Great-Grandchildren. Her Siblings: Roleen (Ralph) Davis, Roland (Bertha)
Durden, Calvin (Gail) Durden, and Gerald Dewese. Her brothers & sisters in love: Barbara
(Joseph) White, Pricilla Cabbaris, Alfreda (Charles) Harmon, Alvin (Susan) Tuggerson, and
Peggy Tuggerson . A host of loving nieces, nephews, cousins, and 2 devoted God-sons, Robert
(Pam) Clinton, and Steven Cabarris.
