With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Loretta Marie Lickey, who went home to meet our Lord and Savior Sunday, September 21, 2025 at the age of 87. She lived a life defined by warmth, compassion, and a profound love for her family.

Loretta loved her family more than anything and was the heart of every gathering. Holidays were a time she treasured, filled with laughter, warmth, and traditions she held dear. She delighted in simple joys-Cracker Barrel's chicken and dumplings, her favorite soap operas, watching hummingbirds, and bringing happiness to those around her. Her devotion extended beyond her family as well, as she also spent over 50 years as an AVON representative, sharing beauty, friendship, and thoughtful care with everyone she met.

She has been reunited in heaven with her beloved husband, James Stanley Lickey Sr. They shared 58 years of marriage filled with love, devotion, and cherished memories until his passing in 2016. He was the love of her life, and their bond remained at the heart of her life. She is also preceded in death by her parents, James and Launa Harrison; her brother, Eddie Harrison; and her sister, Esther Perkins.

Loretta watches over many beloved family members from where she resides with God: two sons, James Stanley Lickey Jr. and his wife, Teresa, and Michael Lickey; two daughters, Lisa Kochel and her husband, Glenn, and Jennifer Friend and her husband, Jerry; eight grandchildren-Amanda Six (Greg), Heather Dantro (Phillip), Madeline Bennett (Brad), Bradley Kochel (Kate), Kody Dennis, Amber Ucekay (Jacob), Dylan Friend, and Mason Lickey-and 12 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by three brothers; Marvin Harrison (Cheryl), Merhl Harrison, and Melvin Harrison; three sisters, Gloria Harrison (Vic), Dotty Harrison and Sherri Harrison.

Loretta's greatest joy was simply spending time with her family and loved ones, and we find comfort in knowing that her legacy of love, tradition, and togetherness will live on through us. Loretta will be remembered as a wonderful wife, incredible mother, loving grandma, and treasured friend.

The family will receive friends at Halls Funeral Home in Purcellville, VA at 10:00 am with a service following at 11:00 am on Wednesday, September 24th, 2025. Graveside services will be private. The family appreciates your thoughts and prayers during this time.

Memorial contributions can be made to the Philomont Volunteer Fire Department at 36560 Jeb Stuart Rd Philomont, VA 20131.
