Loretta Darbonne Theall

A Liturgy of the Word will be held on Monday, December 15, 2025, at 11:00 am at Fountain Memorial Funeral Home in Lafayette, LA for Loretta Darbonne Theall, 89 who passed away on Tuesday, December 9, 2025, at her residence in Lafayette, LA.

Visitation will be observed at Fountain Memorial Funeral Home in Lafayette, LA on Monday, December 15, 2025, from 9:00 am until the time of service.

A Rosary, along with Eulogy, will be recited on Monday, December 15, 2025, at 10:30 am at Fountain Memorial Funeral Home in Lafayette, LA.

Interment will follow in Fountain Memorial Cemetery in Lafayette, LA.

Deacon Robert LeBlanc, of St. Basil Catholic Church in Judice, LA, will officiate.

Loretta Darbonne Theall, was born November 6, 1936, in Elton, LA and was a long-time resident of Lafayette. She worked in the cosmetics department of Abdalla's for 25 years. Loretta was an avid gardener and lover of flowers, which brought her great pleasure working in her yard. Loretta was a devout Catholic and a parishioner of St. Basil Catholic Church in Judice. She was a devoted mother, sister, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend. Family meant everything to Loretta, and she leaves a legacy of love and will be deeply missed.

Though our hearts are full, we find comfort in knowing she is now held in God's arms and reunited with those who went before her.

Loretta is survived by her two sons, William 'Bill' Theall, of Lafayette, LA and David Theall and his wife, Carol, of Carrier, MS; her daughter, Rebecca Richard and her husband, Robert, of Broussard, LA; her granddaughters, Stephanie Milligan, of Broussard, LA, Meagan MacIver and her husband, Doug, of Broussard, LA and Taylor Moseley and her husband, Jake, of Milton, LA; her grandson, Allen Milligan, of Lafayette, LA; her great-granddaughters, Blakely MacIver and Peri Ann Moseley; her great-grandsons, Douglas MacIver, III, and Hayes Moseley.

She was preceded in death by her daughter, Kathleen Theall and her parents, Willis Henry and Dorothy Ortego Darbonne.

The family wishes to thank the staff of Hospice of Acadiana for the compassionate care given to Loretta and her family.
