Lori Ann Carnes, 61, a devoted wife, and a cherished friend, passed away peacefully on April 17, 2025. Lori was a beacon of love and joy in the lives of everyone who knew her. Lori was born May 1, 1963, the youngest of five, to the late Robert Levon and Mildren Inez (Taggart) Stevenson. On March 9, 1985 in Bellefontaine she married the love of her life Robert Michael Carnes, who survives. She is also survived by her loving family, siblings, Linda Sacher, Paul Stevenson, Karen Rust; sisters-in-law, Lori (James) Hullinger, Brenda (Michael) Mortimore, Vic Plummer; brothers-in-law, Harry (Cindy) Carnes, Michael (Sara) Long and Tony Stevens; nieces and nephews, Kimberly Sacher, Scott Sacher, Toby Sacher, Robin Sacher, Christopher (Sarah) Stevens, Katlyn (Justin) Stanek, Chad (Melinda) Taylor, Nicole Taylor, Tiffany (Jolene Irons) Taylor, Zachary Taylor, Cody (Natalie) Hullinger, Kyle Carnes, Katie Morris, Blake Carnes, Neal Plummer, Danny Plummer; great nieces and nephews, Elisabeth Stevens, Lillian Stevens, Zealand Stanek, Shaffer Taylor, Oscar Taylor, Bailey Hullinger, Benson Carnes, Allison Carnes, Ellory Morris, Peyton Brisson, Landon Plummer, Brittany (Steven) Burd and Brody Long. Preceded in death by her father-in-law and mother-in-law, Harry and Lois Carnes; sister, Marilyn Stevens; brothers-in-law, Martin Sacher, Asa Rust and Rob Plummer. Lori dedicated her life to her family, always putting them first. Lori was a dedicated caregiver, especially to her beloved husband, Robert Carnes. Together, they created a loving home filled with laughter, support, and countless memories. Lori was a graduate of Northwestern High School class of 1981 and received two degrees from Clark State. An avid art enthusiast, Lori found joy in completing various art projects that reflected her creativity and passion. She loved spending time with friends and family, whether it was shopping, playing golf, or embarking on trips that created lasting memories. Lori's adventurous spirit was matched only by her gentle heart, as she often shared her love for turtles, which was beautifully expressed through a recent addition she designed for their home. In addition to her family, Lori had a special bond with her dog, Daisy, who brought her immense joy and companionship. Lori will be profoundly missed, but her spirit will continue to inspire those who knew her, reminding them to embrace life, love deeply, and cherish every moment. A Celebration of life will take place Saturday, April 26, 2025 from 11:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. at Jennings Farley & Seeley Funeral Home & Crematory, 5591 US Hwy 68 S., West Liberty, OH 43357.
