Lori Kay (Smith) Feyen, age 54, of Wheeler WI (formally Boyceville, WI) passed away peacefully and unexpectedly Saturday, June 10, 2023 at her home.
She was born November 21, 1968 in Menomonie, WI to Larry and Karen (Clark) Smith. She grew up in the Boyceville area where she attended grade school and graduated from Boyceville High School. After school, she continued helping her folks and grandparents on the farms while also working outside the home. Harder worker you'll never find.
Most of her life she cared for others at work and at home, including her family members. The extra love she had for animals was a natural ability few people have, especially when it came to her dogs, kitties, and goats. She was truly a stand by you through thick or thin person. After a visit with her you could relax from listening to her deep giggle and seeing her happy smile. She had many hobbies, one of her favorites was quilting with her mom. They made many quilts together for family and friends. Lori was also a great cook and baker.
Lori married her love Dale Feyen on September 27, 2014 in Boyceville, WI. They loved each other deeply and shared their love of animals together. At one point, they had up to 25 goats plus all the cats and dogs.
Family meant a lot to Lori, especially her niece Krista; nephews Cody and Zak; and great nephew Oli. Lori's daughter Kayleigh Jane was only here moments, but her little life spoke volumes in Lori's world.
For the past 10 years Lori worked for the Center for Independent Living in Menomonie. First as a volunteer driver for 5 years, then she went into transportation as a transportation specialist. Just recently she transferred to a different department as PRS as support. She loved her job, drivers, and coworkers at CIL.
Lori is survived by her loving husband Dale Feyen of Wheeler, WI; mother Karen (Clark) Smith of Menomonie; and brother Kevin Smith. She is also survived by many aunts, uncles, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and many many friends who became family.
She was preceded in death by her daughter Kayleigh Jane Smith (July 3, 2001), father Larry K. Smith (September 17, 2019); grandparents Clinton and Harret Clark and Laurance and Margerat Smith.
A celebration of life for Lori will be held from 12:00 – 3:00 p.m. on Thursday, June 22, 2023 at Olson Funeral Home in Menomonie, WI (615 Wilson Ave.) Burial will be at Tiffany Cemetery in Boyceville, WI.
